social class wars series no.2
SOCIAL CLASS WARS: THE RMS TITANIC AS A BATTLEFIELD
A nine-poster triptych series reimagining the Titanic as a site of class conflict. Through symbols, repetition, and typography, it exposes how privilege shaped survival—turning luxury, labor, and loss into visual evidence of social hierarchy.
Visual Narrative:
Series I — Manipulation of Symbols: Archival dinner plates from first, second, and third class replace human heads, symbolizing identity through consumption and hierarchy.
Series II — Repetition and Rhythm: Floor tile patterns and paper boats made from money, newspaper, and trash reflect cycles of wealth and disposability.
Series III — Typography: Gold bars, coins, and receipts become typographic canvases, contrasting the permanence of wealth with the fragility of debt.
